Product Features
L2M/L2MP is specially designed for harsh working conditions. It is developed for applications with high shaft speed and large misalignment. This oil seal is mainly used in the shaft ends of rolls of paper machinery, cold rolling mills, hot rolling mills, and other mechanical equipment in the corresponding heavy industry.
The service life and performance of lip oil seals largely depend on the preload borne by the sealing lip in contact with the shaft. In this regard, the L2M/L2MP series, with its combination of high-elastic leaf springs and coil springs, has great advantages over ordinary spring-preloaded oil seals, such as excellent heat dissipation performance.
The misalignment of the shaft (shaft deformation, bearing clearance, runout, etc.) will cause the preload of the lip to the shaft to change. For ordinary oil seals, this will lead to lip tilt or affect the service life of the oil seal. The combined form of leaf springs and coil springs in the L2M/L2MP series will greatly eliminate the change of lip preload caused by external forces. Therefore, it can ensure the stability of the oil film under the lip, thus greatly improving the service life and sealing performance of the oil seal. Even when the L2M/L2MP series is in a very poor concentricity condition, its maximum allowable speed can still reach 35m/s. When the L2M series oil seal is installed on a long shaft or in a deep cavity, the combined structure of its coil springs and leaf springs can ensure that the coil springs will not be misaligned.
The leaf springs and coil springs of the L2M/L2MP series oil seals are all made of stainless steel. While the leaf springs are clamped, the oil seal lip is firmly bonded to the metal skeleton. Therefore, the potential leakage problem of the sealing device can be eliminated. This series of assembled oil seals are usually installed with a tapered mounting ring.
