Product Features

Water seal is an axial lip seal made of pure rubber material, widely applied to axial end face sealing on roll necks of metallurgical machinery rolls. It is secured onto the journal of rotating shafts by the clamping tension of its main body against the journal. Meanwhile, a sealing pair is formed by the flexible bending performance of its lip and its pressing force against the sealing end face. This prevents water and contaminants from entering the roll bearing housing during roll operation to protect roll bearings and meet the equipment’s normal operation requirements of blocking impurities and dust in cooling water.

During rotation, the water seal takes advantage of the fluid centrifugal force of external cooling water to block impurities and dust in cooling water outside the bearing housing, while stopping grease leakage inside the sealing cavity.

Common water seal types include six models: VA, VS, VL, VE, VAX and RME. Its regular manufacturing materials are nitrile rubber and fluororubber.
